OUR IDEA OF DANCING TANGO

Tango is not a rigid learning by heart of figures, but an improvisational dance.

To dance tango means to communicate with a partner!

It means to discover a new mindfulness for oneself and the partner. With the help of body work, exercises and a learned movement repertoire, everyone can learn to improvise and explore modes of expression, together and with the music.

It is our vision to impart the essence (the meaning) of tango, its smallest building blocks (the words) and its structure (the grammar).

In that way everybody will be in the position to express his/her feelings and ideas in this new language and to this exceptionally moving music.

We place much emphasis on eliminating rigid role patterns and to inspire both partners to discover, under the guidance of various exercises, the different aspects of leading and following.

Regulary Classes April - June 2013:

Tango Argentino is based on the equal roles of the leader and follower. It can be understood as a conversation and harmonious complementation between the dancers. The mutual letting-go and the trust extended to the other partner, together with the music, allows for growth in personal expression and improvisation.
